Senior Pastor Victor Clay, M. Div.

Senior Pastor Victor Clay is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. Pastor Clay has a B.A. in Business Management, an A.A. and B.A. from Carver Baptist Bible College and Institute, a Master of Divinity in American Church Planting, and is currently working on his Doctorate Degree at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  His Doctorate Thesis is on "Developing a Theological and Practical Training Guide for Intentional Racial Diversity in the Church."

The goal of Pastor Clay is to help shape and direct the transformation process of Spiritual growth from the inside-out through expository preaching, teaching and writing. Pastor Clay has a heart for families and would like to establish and develop a family training center for total renewal of families in Kansas City and throughout America. Pastor Clay wants to develop leaders of a multi-cultural diversity, to reflect a heavenly community on earth through the local Church. These leaders will have strong biblical visionary insight leading to a redevelopment of lives, families, churches, and communities; leading to “The Uncompromising Church on the cutting edge, that disciples the Church to Evangelize the Lost”.

Pastor Clay graduated with honors from Carver Baptist Bible College. He was awarded a Black Church scholarship at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Assistant Pastor Robert Strong

Pastor Robert L. Strong, the 7th of 13 siblings was born in the Razor-Back state of Arkansas in a small town called Holy Grove. He moved to Kansas City at age 7 with his mother Ruthie Mae Strong who became a single parent. He grew up in the inner city and graduated from Paseo High School in 1978.

After graduating high school, he joined and served six years in the Army National Guard. He has been employed at various places such as Butler Manufacturing Company as a welder, Venture Automotive as a auto repair technician, Firestone Tires and Rubber Co. as an Assistant Manager, and Welco Manufacturing Company as a packer and machine operator and is currently employed with City Union Mission as the Director of Family Ministries.

While growing up in his mother's house, he was baptized one Sunday after an emotional experience which was common for the members in attendance. After being baptized, there was no change in his heart. He spent his adult life pursuing the love of money, cars, and women, with no real plan or definite direction in his life and not a clue what love and true relationships were all about. At the age of 27 years old in 1988, he heard the good news of Jesus Christ preached by one of his own brother's in the ministry and realized there was something wrong in his own life. He began to search the Bible for answers and found the answer in what the Bible says about grace and faith in Jesus Christ in order to be saved. He believed the scriptures with all his heart and from that time his life changed and continues to change.

In 1990, Pastor Strong enrolled in Bible College in pursuit of knowing more about his faith. In the spring of 1993, he met Carolyn Ricks at the graduation ceremony of Carver Baptist Bible College and they were married one year later. He and Carolyn are raising 4 children in North Kansas City. He is serving the Lord at Dynamic Life Baptist Ministries as the pastor of the Discipleship ministry and serving his community through City Union Mission Family Center.  In 1998, Pastor Strong graduated from Carver Baptist Bible College and Institute with an Associate Degree in Biblical Studies.

Pastor Strong has passion and desire to see other believers grow from spiritual infancy to spiritual maturity (Ephesians 4:11-16). God has designed the developmental process of a child to take place within the context of a family, whereby the child is nurtured and trained by his/her parents into adulthood and if the child or children had kids the process is repeated. So it is in the spiritual developmental process of a new born baby in Christ. God has designed the developmental process of a new believer in Jesus Christ to take place in His family called the Church, where the new believer is nurtured on the milk of God's Word and trained how to live right by a spirtually mature parent until they are able to repeat the process with somenone else. The process involves accountable relationships and progressive movement toward Christ likeness.

Bill Kelly, Minister-in-Training

Pastor William (Bill) Kelly is a native of Kansas City and is the 4th of 7 siblings. Bill gave his life to Christ at the tender age of 9 at Lutheran Mission of the Good Shepherd.

He is a graduate of Paseo High School and a Veteran of the United States Army where he served three years in Europe as a member of the 101st Airborne.

Bill joined his wife in fellowship at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church were he was later ordained as a Deacon in April 2001. As a leader on the Deacon Board, Bill served as President of the Laymen department (Village Men) where he instituted a mentoring program for the young men in the church. He was also bestowed with the honor of serving as the Regional King for the Midwest District Laymen’s Department of the Progressive National Baptist Conference.

During his tenure at Mt. Pleasant, Bill received his calling to the ministry. This revelation led him to seek further training to become a missionary and to reach out to the community through evangelism.   Being obedient to the call, Bill enrolled in Carver Baptist Bible College to receive extensive ministerial training.   Attending Carver gave Bill the great fortune of meeting Pastor Clay who was one of his instructors.

Being a student at Carver has opened many doors for Bill and has allowed him to present at conferences were he fervently proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Prayers of the faithful shall be answered. Pastor Clay and the Dynamic Life church family continued in prayer for Brother Kelly to unite with them and after two years of receiving biblical instruction from Pastor Clay, Bill united with Dynamic Life Baptist Ministries in January 2007. As a member of Dynamic Life, Bill teaches at the City Union Mission Family Center and preaches at the Men’s Center as well as lead the evangelistic ministry for DLBM.

Bill married his high school sweetheart Chris Kelly and they have a son and daughter-in-law with three precious grandchildren. He loves to fish and make annual trips to Eureka Springs to see the “Passion Play”.
