Sermon Text: Ephesians 1:6b-10
Sermon Purpose: To call the hearer to rejoice in the understanding of biblical redemption in Jesus Christ.
Sermon Proposition: There are 5 truths believers must understand related to redemption, that births praise of God.

6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, 9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth - in Him. Ephesians 1:6b-10 (NKJV)

1. The understanding of redemption should birth praise of God. v.6b-7a

   • The method of redemption is Jesus Christ. (Matthew 3:17; Colossians 1:13; Romans 1:7; John 14:21)

   • The means of redemption is Jesus Christ's blood. (Romans 3:24-25; Leviticus 17:11; Hebrews 9:22; Hebrews 10:4, 10:10; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Revelation 5:8-10)

   
   

2. The understanding of forgiveness should birth praise of God. v.6-7b (Matthew 26:28; Leviticus 16:7-10; Psalm 103:12; Isaiah 44:22)
   

3. The understanding of abundant grace should birth praise of God. v.7c-8

   • The understanding of the theological ramifications. v.8a
     Life & Death, God & man, righteousness & sin, heaven & hell (Romans 5:20)

   • The understanding of the practical ramifications. v.8b
     Comprehension of needs, problems, and principals of everyday life.

   
   

4. The understanding of the mystery should birth praise. v.9 (1 Corinthians 2:6-12; Matthew 11:25; James 1:5)
   
   

5. The understanding of the summation should birth praise. v.10

   • The perfect timing of God's summation. v.10a

   • The perfect object of God's summation. v.10b

   • The perfect totality of God's summation. v.10c

   • The angelic realm.

   • The demonic realm.

   • The church realm.

   • The creative realm.
