Sermon Title: The Rehabilitation of Racial Disunity
Sermon Text: Philippians 2:1-8
Sermon Purpose: To call the hearer to model Christ-like humility toward others of different color, class, cultures and creed.
Sermon Proposition: There are 3 principles of humility Paul mandates.

1. Rehabilitation is initiated by the mission of humility. v.1-2

   • Rehabilitation demonstrates the trait of consolation. v.1a

   • Rehabilitation demonstrates the trait of love. v.1b (1 John 4:19-21, 4:7-11)

   • Rehabilitation demonstrates the trait of fellowship in the spirit. v.1c (Ephesians 4:1-3)

   • Rehabilitation demonstrates the trait of compassion. v.1d (Romans 14:18-19)

   • Rehabilitation demonstrates the trait of concern for one another's joy. v.2 (Philemon 1:20)

   
   
   

2. Rehabilitation is initiated by the methods of humility. v.3-4

   • Rehabilitation demonstrates the trait of lowliness of mind. v.3 (1 Corin. 10:32-33; Romans 12:3)

   • Rehabilitation demonstrates the trait of controlling self interest upon oneself. v.4 (Philemon 1:17-19; Romans 14:1)

   
   
   

3. Rehabilitation is initiated by the mindset of humility. v.5-8

   • Rehabilitation demonstrates Christ is the Supreme example. v.5

   • Rehabilitation demonstrates Christ is of the nature of God. v.6 (2 Peter 1:3-4)

   • Rehabilitation demonstrates Christ emptied Himself and became a man. v.7 (Ephesians 5:21)

   • Rehabilitation demonstrates Christ humbled Himself to the point of utter humiliation death. v.8 (Romans 14:7-10)
